Dr. Michael S. McCann

D.D.S., F.A.G.D.

With over 40 years of experience in comprehensive dentistry and dental business management, Dr. McCann is known for his relaxed, welcoming manner and his commitment to patient education. He takes the time to explain treatment options so patients can make confident, informed choices about their oral health.

He holds Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry and has been involved in numerous dental organizations throughout his career, bringing a breadth of knowledge and a genuine love for the craft to every patient interaction.

Dr. Emily J. Stopper

D.D.S., F.A.G.D.

Dr. Stopper has been practicing dentistry for over 20 years after graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry in 2007. Born in Boone and raised in West Jefferson, she returned home to care for the community she loves and continues to serve patients in West Jefferson as well.

She is especially passionate about helping patients who suffer from obstructive sleep apnea and is among less than 0.3% of dentists in the United States who have earned Diplomate status with the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine — the highest credential in the field.

Tracie - Team Leader

Tracie is a Watauga County native. With over 20 years of experience in dental office administration, she is extremely knowledgeable and a great guide for our patients as they navigate through all aspects of their dental treatment.

Tracie resides in Banner Elk with her husband Rodney and two sons Clay and James. In her spare time, she loves farming with her husband on their cattle farm, and spending time with friends and family. She greets everyone with a sweet smile and we are thrilled to have her as a part of our dental team!

Kim - Dental Assistant

Kim has been a Dental Assistant for over 28 years. She enjoys getting to know each patient and provide a personal, comforting touch to each. Kim likes to provide the best experience possible to each patient to let them know that going to the dentist doesn’t have to be so scary. Kim has completed numerous continuing education courses to provide the highest level of care possible to each patient.

Kim love smusic, reading, watching movies, and in the summer, kayaking and enjoying bonfires at night. She is married to Randy and they have a blended family of 5 adult children and 3 grandchildren.

Lianya - Dental Hygienist

As a dental hygienist and student at Appalachian State University, Lianya is dedicated to creating a comfortable and positive experience for every patient. She believes oral health is an important part of overall wellness and enjoy helping patients feel confident in their smiles.

Lianya plans to attend dental school in the future so she can offer a wider range of treatment options to better serve each individual patient.

Annie - Dental Assistant

Annie is the newest member of the Boone Family Dental team. She brings years of experience and expertise that helps our patients receive the best dental care possible. She makes patients feel at ease with her dental assisting skills. She is loved by patients and is a great team player.

Outside of work, Annie and her husband enjoy working on their home renovations and she enjoys spending time with their sons and grandchildren.
